Merry's 4 month old grandson stopped breathing and died this morning. It was the child of her 19 year old son, Roberto. He, his girlfriend, and the baby all live with Merry. Please pray for the family- for Angelica who, at 6yrs old, is trying to comprehend the second death of a family member this year. Pray the Lord gives me discernment as to how best support the whole family. The funeral was amazing. It was at a Spanish church in Marietta. There was a surprisingly large crowd. All of Merry's brothers and sisters came, some of whom I'd met at her dad's funeral back in January. The service was in Spanish so I interpreted into ASL as Daniel Bass stood beside me translating from Spanish to English in my ear. The whole day was a beautiful example of the Body of Christ working together to serve the Lord. It was a long and emotionally exhausting day. Angelica told me at lunch that she didn't want to cry because she didn't want anyone to see,but when she saw both of her big brothers crying she was able to do so. Antonio, Merry's 17 yr old son joined us for church Sunday morning so he could go to lunch with us afterwards. It is the first time he's gone to church. The Lord is good.
